Hrimfax
Information

Hrimfax, son of Fraldi; the pride and joy of House Sleipner, and the last of a long line of high-spirited warhorses reknown for their intelligence and ferocity on the field of battle. Southerners who were brave enough to venture into the wild North come back with tales of these vicious horses, even gaining mention in ancient texts.

Hrimfax is a stallion of pure black, massively built and muscular; made not only to bear an armored man in combat, but also possessing incredible stamina and dexterity to last on the field of battle. His body is long, his legs muscular and thick; feathered hooves enormous and shod in hard, cold iron. His neck is thick with muscle, arching almost into a perfect curve; his head relatively small, compared to his body, but the muzzle exagerated and bearing wicked teeth and enormous nostrils - all the better for drawing precious air into massive lungs. His mane is almost more like a lion's than a horse's, growing into wild curls and kinks that spill down his neck, feathering extending to his chest and stomach.

Being a horse, Hrimfax has no real personality - at least, not as varied as a human's. But do not point this out to Eriks. Ever. He does possess a wicked cunning, being able to pick out and recognize a variety of people, and seems to take special enjoyment out of tormenting stable-boys and frightened caretakers. He trusts only Eriks, and only then obeys him sometimes; he is difficult for even the General to handle, when he is in the midst of blood-lust. But there is true affection between the two, a deep bond that is obvious to even the most casual observer. The only other person who even approaches this level of trust is Ariane Carnath-Emory, and Hrimfax only takes this as a matter of course, merely tolerating the woman when Eriks is not around to care for him.

His time in Myrken has left him fretting, apparently missing the fields of battle where he feels most at home. His greatest joy, currently, are the wild rides through Myrken's forests - and they have been less frequent of late, due to Eriks' responsibilities.
