Background

Origins

What little is known about Izanagi is a tragic story. He was born the child of a legendary Ninja. Trained to follow in his father's footsteps from an early age, the young Shinobi was a prodigy. He learned quicker than most, and he mastered things with ease. Only a year into his training, tragedy struck. A group of rival Ninja from a village not far from his own attacked, killing not only Izanagi's family, but everyoe in the village--women and children included. No one knows how the young one escaped, and Izanagi refuses to talk about it. He barely speaks, in fact, unless he has formed a bond with someone, which is exceedingly rare. The sad events of his life have left him mentally scarred and unable to cope with too much input.

The Broken Dagger

Izanagi somehow wandered into Myrken Wood and was found by Cray Draconius, who for a time kept him in a room at the Broken Dagger, hoping the owners of the Orphanage would take him in.

The Present

Izanagi calls the Orphanage home, and recently he graduated from Cray's training. He has managed to activate his occular ability to the 3rd, fully mature stage; though thanks to limiters placed by Cray, it will be a long time before he attains the 4th stage.

Abilities

Izanagi has basic rudimentary skills in unarmed combat and with weapons typical of Shinobi, such as katana, kunai, and throwing stars. Due to an accident as a child which left him blind in his left eye, and the subsequent transplanting of his father's eye, left him with a unique set of abilities.

The eye has stages of activation, four in total; though there is a legendary fifth activation.

The first activation grants advanced visual perception, and the ability to see energy.

The second activation grants even stronger visual acuity, and the ability to copy, and counter an adversaries physical combat techniques.

The third activation, considered the 'fully matured' ocular ability grants the abilities of the two previous levels, plus the ability to, so long as the person has the requisite type of energy available....to copy any technique they see, physical or otherwise, except for racial abilities, and other abilities that require a certain bloodline, etc etc.

The fourth activation is considered to be the peak of the Ninja's ocular abilities. It grants unique techniques. Izanagi's are an Illusory realm wherein he controls space, and time. Only a few moments pass in the real world, but inside the illusory realm days pass. The other technique is black flames so hot they devour even other sources of fire. Both of these abilities, however, come at a great cost. Using them not only greatly taxes the user's energy, and body, but the use of these techniques also causes a gradual degradation of the eye which used them, leading to lessened visual acuity, and eventual blindness. Once the eye is blind, none of the activations can be turned on ever again.

There is a legendary fifth release, though none of Izanagi's bloodline have gained it in many hundreds of years. The only difference between the fourth, and fifth activation is there is no degradation of the eye.

The biggest issue with Izanagi's eyes are that he can't use them simultaneously. They simply don't react at the same speeds, which results in a nauseating dizzy sensation. Because of this, anytime Izanagi activates his occular abilities, he must close his other eye, which gives him a large blind spot, ontop of the normal drain to his energy that activating the progressive levels of his occular abilities, and the techniques granted by the fourth activation.
