In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, but the life in your years. Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live. We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once, and we should call every truth false which was not accompanied by at least one laugh.

This is the life that Braunwyn Beechbrook lives, evident in her ways, her feelings and her most intimate thoughts. She is half-elf, half-human, 84 years old. Youthful in appearance and heart, the woman lives a full, contented life. Her elven father, Brolian, was married to a human woman named Lisha.

An only child, she reaped the benefits of a full and rewarding childhood. The family was close-knit, and never was heard a word of disrespect toward one another. Her mother was lost to the family when Braunwyn was 17 years old, tragically drowning while at sea during a storm. As a result, she and her father grew even closer, and always having been chided by her mother for being unladylike, she fell into the tomboy suit rather easily, becoming both daughter and son to her father. She was taught to wield a medium sword and even to throw a dagger with deadly aim, but her forte swiftly became the bow. To this day, they remain close, though their visits are far and between.

When she was 19, she joined up to serve the <<ADDING WHEN APPROVED>>. Shortly following the beginning of her 16th year of service, she met and fell in love with Graelen Boors while on duty at the merchant's portside resorts, and after a two-year courtship, they were married. She was 38. She resigned from her post, finding married like more than fulfilling. For the next 14 years, she and Graelen, a wealthy merchant of spice imports, spent little time at their posh estate on the eastern side of Thessilane along the coast, choosing rather to "rough it" in the wild. They traveled near and far together, crossing provinces, continents, and even seas, in their adventures. Their life was full and joyful until, after 14 years of comanionship, Graelen died, his heart failing without warning one night in his sleep. When he passed, he was 53, she was 52.

She was left a full inheritance after Graelen's death, portions of it spread throughout a series of provincial accounts. Hurting and lost without her closest companion, she took up a nomadic lifestyle, drifting throughout the continent of Amynasia for just over 18 years. An occasional companion or lover would be seen at her side from time to time, but nothing of any consequence, the longest relationship, (with an elven male named Vonemar) lasting just shy of 18 months.

When she was 70, after a chance encounter with a gentleman by the name of Killian Grayson, she opted to take up his offer for a business dinner to discuss a few things. Arriving in New Dauntless at the appointed time, she sat and was offered a position as a long-distance courier. The job entailed many nights under the sky, long traveling distances, and hard riding. She shook Grayson's hand with a smile as she stood. "I'm your girl!"

Grayson gave her a hearty long-legged eight-year-old stallion called "Pontius", and within a week, she was off on her first run. For the next 8 years, Pontius was her closest friend and confidant, until a slip and fall on a loose-shale mountainside in the Wekslos shattered the horse's knee. A healer was able to mend the knee so he could walk again, but Braunwyn never sat on his back after that day, walking beside him til they returned to the base office at New Dauntless. Here, Pontius was let out to pasture to spend his remaining years at peace. Grayson approached her with a young unnamed colt, hers to raise until he was old enough to ride. The spry colt was fondly dubbed Shadrach, and he traveled along side of her for the next 2 years as she rode a variety of horses.

For the past 6 1/2 years, Shadrach has been Braunwyn's friend, companion and bed, she often riding the familiar trails asleep at his neck. He came to be as familiar as she with the lands, and together, they discovered hidden- and made new- trails, she carefully mapping out each on rolled parchment, always kept in her saddlebags. It was on one such sunny afternoon Southbound beside the Mavoiir River, she decided to head West and see this rumored town of Myrken.

She same across a quaint tavern known by the locals as the "Broken Dagger". Inside, she found a variety of people, young and old, dark and light, terrifying and kind. Enjoying the variety, she began frequenting the place more often, making herself familiar with the local village and a few of the inhabitants. It was here that she crossed a man by the name of Maxwell Bishop. They quickly became close friends, and remained thus for several months. Inevitably, she admitted her feelings for him, and soon, her heart was lost for the second time in her life.
