Foggy Bottom is the second largest town in Myrken Wood, and forms a trade hub for the north of the territory. The town rests in the valley at the foot of the Paisiann Falls where the North Amasynian Route and the Dauntine Road tie into the North Passage Down.
The Great Madness
During the summer of 207 AR, the entire town was subject to the fell sorcery of Teron Ashfiend, the infamous Scourge of Myrken. Immediately following the Battle of Snowstill, the Ashfiend came to Foggy Bottom and, turning his memories outward and forcing them upon the minds of the populace, drove the population into a raving madness that ended with several injuries, deaths and destruction of property that lasted for a span of three days. During that time the creature stole into an ancient and forgotten cavern at the base of the Paisiann Falls to uncover some of his belongings that were hidden there a decade ago following his defeat at the hand of his enemies. Amongst these belongings were the ancient sword Deliverance, forged for the mortal man Teron Ashfiend once was to slay demons, a silver urn containing the ashes of his betrothed, and a slumbering undead servant whose name, location and identity remain a mystery.
