Gerard Gerhardt
Information

"H...Hello. I'm Gerard Gerhardt. Uh...Starting today, I'll be working with the Constabulary to provide Myrkentown safety and security.

"As a matter of fact, I was born here, but I traveled away with a circus when I was only twelve. I was a stagehand, and as I grew older, I played a part in the Strongman act, as well as a general hauler. Eventually, I parted ways with the circus to travel on my own, after visiting here in Myrkentown. I went on a personal journey to wander the countryside, and, uh, I did so for several years. I worked many places and had many different experiences.

"Perhaps it was because I visited Myrkentown that I wanted to come back. So, I did. After I got back, I, uh, looked for work, and the Constabulary was the first place I went. I was signed up on the spot.

"I hope that I can be of service to the Constabulary and to the Myrkentown community."

Facts about Gerard

Gerard is...

...Not very subtle. In fact, he is quite blunt. (Ask Treadwell.)

...Pretty big. Easily six and a half feet tall, he is type of person that even a drunken tavern-dweller would think twice about before starting trouble.

...Kind of slow. While not stupid, Gerard sometimes has trouble following conversations that are not directly to the point. He can readily grasp hostile situations, though.

...A big softie. It's very easy to trick Gerard into doing something (or not doing something) by feigning weakness or a need to do it. He also is not prone to violence as a result.

...Really bad at fishing, though he always likes to fish.

...New to town. While it's true he grew up in Myrkentown, he has spent the majority of his adolescent and adult life away from it. Literally everything is new to him as far as common town features are concerned (though, he might not look it).

...Devoted to his duty as a Constable. He believes that the law is for Good People, and as such, should be followed at all times.

Gerard's House

A modest hovel at the very edge of the town limits, Gerard's family seems to have picked up and moved away some time ago while he was out adventuring and performing. The place is very ramshackle but cozy, partially dug into the ground. The house constantly smells of earth due to the sod rooftop where vegetables grow, and the grass that seems to have grown on the walls around the house. Ivy covers the windows, as well.

Inside the actual house is a modest living space - a mattress on top of a raised hardwood pallet is the only thing that is truly of note. Various light implements are dug into a wall turned into a makeshift shelving area, mostly lanterns and lamps of various sizes. During the evening, Gerard lights them all up to create a nice, warm, pleasant atmosphere.

There is no cooking area on the inside of the hovel - instead, there is a permanent fire pit outside with a ring of carefully placed rocks. There is, however, a place for one pot, one pan, and one flat-iron griddle, hanging by a window. Gerard's house does not actually have a door - really, it's just a large plank of wood that he can easily move due to the handles. Other people may have problems moving it, though.

Aside from lamps and cooking implements, Gerard's house is also home to a litter of kittens. He is currently raising them, and most of the house is lorded over by said cats. He has fed them since birth, and they are rather loyal to Gerard. They prowl around during the outside for most of the day when Gerard is out unless the weather is foul, in which case they remain inside.

Next to Gerard's house are an apple tree and a cherry tree that are well-tended.

Recently, Gerard has begun to grow a flowerbed of hydrangeas next to his house.

There is a small fishing pond that Gerard never catches anything in located approximately five minutes away walking distance.
