- Late March/Early April: Aloisius Treadwell leaves Myrkentown to help the widow of the late owner of an orphanage in Geilston find someone to run the orphanage. He takes N`vek with him as a traveling companion at his wife's request, with his butler, Gregory, driving the carriage and his horse, Arnold, pulling it. Their trip, which should have been a straight line, was unintentionally diverted to Fyeden due to excessive snowdrifts that had, at that point, not melted yet.
