Information |
DescriptionApproaching the adulthood of his early teens, Radeorin is a lanky thing, with long limbs in both arms and legs. He stands tall, indicating that his height will one day be over six feet, but for now, hankers somewhere near the edges of five. His face is youthful, and threatens handsomeness, if only he would wash himself a little more. Thin, black hair almost always gets in the way of his matching eyes. He smiles, but they are usually thin-lipped notions that rarely show his teeth, but when he does, they are mostly straight and square and notably clean. His eyes are constantly curious, often narrowing when he attempts to understand something and his long fingers often fidget when he's not in some sort of conversation. Typically, he's clothed just beyond rags: he favors tunics and simple breeches, along with leather shoes that threaten to be too big. HistoryNot much is known about the boy's history. He lacks parentage, as well as a last name, only referring to himself as 'Radi' and occasionally, 'Radeorin.' It is well-known that he is a deaf-mute, reduced to using hand-signals, foreign sign-language and writing his thoughts down on parchment with charcoal. Rumors whisper of his origins coming from Fyeden, but very few know much of his history there. He makes no mention of siblings or parents; in fact, he's rather quiet on much of himself, even when he does attempt to communicate. EmploymentDespite his literacy, Radeorin does not seem to have a large breadth of knowledge. Being literate in itself is a fine accomplishment, but his thoughts are usually so short, it might arguably be that he knows how to write a few sentences for basic communication. He seems to have no other skills: combat techniques have yet to be shown around the 'Dagger, but he has been hired as a cook's assist and dish-washer by Dulcie. As for friends, it does not seem he has earned close acquaintances, but he can be seen with GreatLady Grawnya and Dea. He apparently has little tolerance for people his own age. It is known that his disgust for the know-it-all Gloria has never been a secret and he doesn't seem to attempt to socialize with anyone his own age. RP HooksDeaf Mute - Most notably, Radeorin cannot speak and makes little effort to communicate with any kind of voice. In fact, when he laughs, his vocal chords seem entirely broken, bringing forth a more wheezing sound. It is not known whether he lost his voice and hearing at a young age or was born this way. It also seems odd at times just how well he read lips, which he insists is the way he 'hears,' even noticing things that happen across rooms or more private conversations that his ears perk like a kittens. Loner - There are few reasons for a boy to be living at the tavern and whose employment sustains him so he may continue to live there. He has no parents, family or friends to speak of. This may imply he has run from something. What is he running from? Broken Dagger Employee - He works there regularly. Often cleaning, and when he's not cleaning, he's likely eating. He doesn't seem to drink any of the alcohol, though.
