Rest in Peace

It was early fall and the air was brisk, still holding a bit of warmth from a summer that was quickly fading. Reports from a fellow patient and a traveling nurse at the Rememdium Edificium where the seamstress often volunteered, claimed she had come in nearly frozen to death. Her blue lips uttering, “its not a dream…” The following morning, despite all the blankets available and a healthy fire, she was pronounced dead due to hypothermia and exposure.

Authorities dismissed the strange circumstances of her death, though rumors at the time surfaced speaking to strange winter dreams.

Appearence

Working in Myrkentown proper as a seamstress, most days this feisty young woman leads a common life. On more than one occasion she has been in trouble with Maxwell Bishop for petty antics, but hardly anything to hold her for. She is usually a disheveled mess, wavy locks of radiant auburn tumble down over her shoulders when they're not messily braided from a days work. Her shoulders lay bare with a low chemise, high enough as to not entice, but well worn and meant for its adaptability to her chores. Her clothes may be faded and simple, but her smile is gentle and her kindness offered to almost everyone.

Despite the sweat on her brow her eyes are a soft and refreshing, spring-water blue. But that which should make her least common of all is her voice, passing over rosey lips that often smile and grin, is a charmed voice. She tries to hide her secrets from most, but Rhea is obviously a foreigner with a heavy broken accent that fades away when she sings. An occurrence that after hiding for nearly three years in under Myrken's protection appears more and more frequently, especially with the encouragement of her healing friend Bryce Larose.

As a manipulator of words, a magic handling human, and a healer, Rhea was once a priestess of the highest rank, in the Isles of the north, the Shadow Moon Isle in efforts to deter attention from those would abuse her powers she simply hides.

Background

Born in a small farming village, Katarhea ‘Rhea’ lived a simple country life until the age of seven when she was selected to begin training at the central temple. Her blood made her a viable candidate but her stunning voice was what made her stand out among the other girls selected to assist the governing Priestess' of the land.

Not soon after her appointment the lands were invaded and the training temple came under siege. What once was a shimmering tribute of lush fertile lands, and abundant springs of sparkling water had become an inferno where she had witnessed the torture and murder of two sisters. Taking the last and key song book to ensure its safety she murdered the deformed drow that had been her captor. And fled across the Beradt Sea into Amasynia, where upon she landed in New Dauntless attempted to lie low in the event her captors would track her. Somehow she found her way into Myrken Wood. Even now hundreds of leagues away nightmares of the atrocity and blood plague her thoughts.

Skills

Due to Rhea's extensive knowledge and ability to manipulate her own voice many feats become possible such as:

  • When able to hum or sing - hands may warm and/or glow upon touching heal another's wounds ONLY if they 'accept' the gesture.
  • When able to hum or sing - create a barrier or shield between her and an oncoming or attacking enemy.
  • When able to hum or sing - create temporary tangible illusions this includes the ability to tune specifically to a single person or creature without others hearing.
  • Other minor vocal abilities include emotional influence, insulating and creating fire, disguise, enchanting, embedding dreams, entering another’s dream, and inflicting death.

Note:

  • barriers, healing, and extensive illusions create an alarming exertion of energy which may limit the effect of the process to a few minutes or even seconds in duration. (depending on intensity)
  • In order to inflict death on another creature she must forfeit her own life.
  • When under extreme stress her physical appearance will alter, her eyes are likely to fade to a near crystal blue and her hair darken to near black.
