Barber Hander
Information

Barber Hander is a quirky barber and apothetcary.

He was born and raised in Myrkentown, though left for periods of education. He attended primary school at the Priory of Stonebrook and later went to Ricathair, Amasynia, where he studied under the famed apothecary, Nicolas Culp. He even assisted Culp in the compilation and authorship of Culp's Pharmacopoeia: A Collection of Herbs, Remedies, and Apothecarial Combinatorics Pertaining to the Balancing of Humours and the Resolution and Prevention of Ailments, Insanity, and Death -- considered to be one of the best resources for contemporary healers, apothetcaries, and barber-surgeons. It should be noted that Hander does not hold a grudge that his contributions were not credited within the text itself; he was honored to be involved with the tome's creation and he certainly won't hesitate to tell you that you should be honored to know him as a result.

After he completed his service under Culp, Hander was subsequently accepted into the Royal Society of Apothecaries in Ricathair. It was only after that that Hander returned to Myrkentown, where he opened his shoppe/medical practice, which he simply named Barbery & Apothecary. Although business dipped significantly when David D'Rael opened the Rememdium Edificium two years later, Hander still managed to maintain a significant number of customers. He attributed this to differing theoretical beliefs and practices when it comes to the application of herbs and humoral medicine. That said, he would never speak negatively against another doctor, even if he felt that doctor was not serving his patients as well as Hander himself might -- unless, of course, he felt that that doctor was performing medicine which was potentially devastating to a patient's health.

Hander loves Myrkentown and its citizens and will spare no expense to cure their ails.
